Nvidia has announced that it is working closely with Square to optimize the PC version of FFXI Gil game. Nvidia supplied Square with GeForce4 hardware and technical assistance early in the development process, and the game will have additional visual effects when played on GeForce4 Ti graphics cards.

Square has announced that it will begin the beta test of FFXI Gil game, its massively multiplayer online role-playing game, for the PC starting June 18 in Japan. The company has already begun receiving applications on its PlayOnline Web site, though the recommended requirements are limited to higher-end systems, such as those with a Pentium 4, a GeForce3 (or higher), and more than 64MB of video memory. The beta test will include FFXI Gil game, Tetra Master, and the PlayOnline Viewer. The beta test is limited to residents of Japan.

According to Japanese PC gaming publication Login, SquareSoft has revealed new details on FFXI Gil game for the PC. The 11th installment in the Final Fantasy series will be the company's first massively multiplayer online role-playing game, and it is being developed for both the PC and the Sony PlayStation 2 console. Though the game's specifications have not been finalized, so far it is known that it will require a graphics card that supports hardware T&L and DirectX 8.1. It is expected that users can choose from different resolution settings depending on their hardware specifications. Players will be able to share data between the PC and Sony PlayStation 2 versions since the game uses server-side saving.

This time, however, Maple Story had no trouble conquering Conquer Online in order to move onto the semi-finals. In fact, Conquer Online registered the lowest score yet with a 0.75. Despite being a solid MMO with a strong position in the Asian fantasy theme niche (not to mention a higher score in GameOgre.com's Review Directory), Conquer Online was simply no match for the popularity of Maple Story and its console-like graphics.

Eve Online was almost able to bring down the MMO juggernaut due to a combination of very deep game play in a science fiction setting and players who just simply love to hate WoW. Given how close WoW came to defeat this week by another pay-to-play MMO, it will be interesting to see how it fares against a free MMO in the finals. Furthermore, it should be noted that WoW has yet to face a free game in the tournament as it has defeated the likes of EverQuest 2, City of Heroes, and now Eve Online.

Although neither Guild Wars or Maple Story charges a monthly subscription fees, two game could not possibly be more different. While Maple Story is a free download with 2D cartoon-like console graphics, Guild Wars sports more realistic 3D graphics and requires a one time purchase.

Asking gamers about many aspects of their gaming highlights the problem of multiple characters. For example, if we asked players about guild affiliation, we would like a yes/no answer from each participant, but what about players who have multiple characters, some of which are in guilds and others not?

How do people decide what character to create? Do they always pick certain character classes? Do they carefully read through class descriptions before deciding?

Usually included in this concept of cheats is the use of existing bugs or gameplay aspects unintended by the Final Fantasy XI developers known as exploits. Gamers are divided as to whether all exploitation is a cheat, though most consider FFXI Gil exploits as cheats if they are particularly unfair.
